How To Play

FantasyWorld Survivor Football 2009

FantasyWorld Survivor Football 2009 is a twist on traditional survivor leagues. Instead of selecting one NFL team each week you will select one player at each position. Your players must meet a given threshold to survive. If the player fails to qualify that roster position is eliminated for the remainder of the season. The last team standing, or the team with the most roster slots left at the end of the year will be the champion.

Roster Selection

Survivor Football teams consist of the following positions:
1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, 1 TE, 1 Offense, 1 Defense

For each fantasy team you must select one player at each position each week. Only players available in the system are eligible for selection in a given week. Once you have used a player you may not use that player again for the remainder of the game.

In order to survive your players must meet the following thresholds:
QBs: At least 200 passing yds AND 1 Touchdown
RBs: At least 70 rush/rec yds AND 1 Touchdown
WRs: At least 60 rush/rec yds AND 1 Touchdown
TEs: At least 50 rush/rec yds OR 1 Touchdown
Offense: At least 24 points scored
Defense: 19 or fewer points allowed

If a player fails to meet this threshold the team loses that roster slot for the remainder of the season (see "Challenge Flags" below for an exception to this).

Note: Points scored and allowed by a team count regardless of which unit is responsible (e.g. If the Colts defense scores 6 points on an interception return, those points count for the Colts offense).

Roster Lock

Your roster will lock one hour before the first game each week. All roster selections must be made before this deadline.

Challenge Flags

Each team will begin the season with 3 replay challenge flags for Week 2 and Week 8 contests and 1 replay challenge flag for week 11 and week 14 contests. Challenge flags can be used to reclaim a lost roster slot. In order to reclaim a roster slot you must use your challenge flag prior to the next roster lock after the slot was eliminated.

Teams with challenge flags remaining will not be eliminated even if all roster slots are eliminated as long as at least one of the roster slots is eligible to be reclaimed.

Using any replay challenge flags forfeits your eligibility for the $1 million perfect season prize.

Scoring/Standings

Teams are ranked first by roster slots remaining then by fantasy points scored.

Scoring is as follows:
Passing Yards: 40 yards/point
Rush/Rec Yards: 10 yards/point
Touchdowns: 6 points
Interceptions: -2 points
Fumbles: -2 points
Offense: 0-23 points scored = 0 points

Defense: 20+ points allowed = 0 points
14-19 points allowed = 15 points
